Default disabled items list

I tried to open an excel spreadsheet and received the following error: "the
document "my document" caused a serious error the last time it was opened,
would you like to continue opening it? When I show help, it says something
about the "disabled items list" where is this list?
The file went from 2 MB to 40 MB with only text added.
Can I recover this file? Thanks, Burt

In xl2003 menus:

Help|About MS Excel|there's a button at the bottom.

What version of excel are you using?

In xl2003 menus, you can use:
help|about microsoft excel|disabled items

In xl2007, it's under:
Office button|Excel Options|Addins
select disabled items from the dropdown at the bottom of that window.
