Default Assigning Color to a number

I am trying to assign a color to a row depending on the number placed in the
first columb. For example when cell A1 = 4, I want the computer to make
cells A1-D1 to be light blue in color. When the "4" changes to "5" the color
needs to change to green. Is this possible and how.

Highlight the cells whose colour you want to change then use conditional
formatting to enter a formula and a 'reaction'.

1. make a table with your conditions i.e. let A1 = 4 and B1 = green.
2. highlight cells where you want color to change
3. format tab conditional formatting change settings to what you want <<
click ok
