Default Formatting Question- Excel 2007

I have a client that use to be able to cut and paste parts of his document to
a new sheet, select keep source formatting and have everything look the same.
Now when he does that he has to manually go in and reset all of his margin
settings and row and columns.

If he copies the entire document he retains the settings. But he wants to be
able to pick and choose. He says it worked before.

What if anything changed? Thanks in advance.
