You can either try freeze panes options or use the Spit option.
XL07: ViewSplit/Freeze Panes XL03: WindowSplit/Freeze Panes (If you use the split option you can drag the horizontal split to top so as to have the vertical one alone..) If this post helps click Yes --------------- Jacob Skaria "hootie" wrote: how do i lock a column and make it follow me accross a page so i can see it while working in other columns? |

Select the column to the right of the one you want to lock, then go to Window
- Freeze panes. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "hootie" wrote: how do i lock a column and make it follow me accross a page so i can see it while working in other columns? |

Try Window Split if you want to work/scroll on both sides of the fixed column
Assume you want to keep col X "fixed", first scroll the sheet horizontally so that col X is visible roughly in the centre of the screen, then select the adjacent col Y, click Window Split to split it vertically. Now you can scroll/work independently on either side of the split. Tinker around with Window Freeze pane as well.
