This is a weird one. Some XL files are opening with column labels being
numbered instead of lettered. But not all of them. (all files are pre 2007 version) Is there some way to change the column labels from numbers back to letters in these files? |

Thanks for that, has solved the problem (was in Office 2007).
What is confusing me is why files are opening up with R1C1 enabled when they were not set with that originally and it is not consistant, some open this way and some don't, all files involved are pre 2007 version. Usually when you start an XL session, if the first file is set as R1C1 then all other files opened in that session follow the same rule, what is happening now is, for example, the first two files in the session are R1C1 then the next is R1CA and then the next will be R1C1. Is this a known bug or should I maybe reinstall office to see if it corrects the problem -- "T. Your understanding of how it works is correct. Why it would keep "switching"
I don't know. I haven't heard anything as far as this being a bug in Excel 2007. -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "Geoff B" wrote in message ...
