I want to protect the whole sheet, and unprotect the combo box.
I've already unchecked the locked option within the combo box's
properties and I've already unlocked the cells linked to the combo
box. But it still doesn't allow me to choose an option within the
combo box while the sheet is protected. HELP?!

Are you sure you're unlocking the correct cell--the cell that's linked to the
combobox?

I used xl2003 and added a combobox from the control toolbox toolbar and linked
it to a cell on the same worksheet.

When the cell was unlocked and the worksheet protected, I could change the
combobox.

But if the cell was locked with the worksheet protected, I could not change the
combobox.

Thanks Dave for your input. It didn't fix it though. I created a whole new
workbook and made sure the cells linked to the combo box were unlocked. I
even unchecked the locked box within the combo box's prop. Still not working.
??? Any other tricks or tips? Im using Excel 2007.

I'm confused by this:
Cells linked to the combo box were unlocked

It sounds like you unlocked the ListFillRange, but left the LinkedCell locked.

Could it be????

ps. I tested in xl2007 and there was no difference in behavior with xl2003 in
my simple testing.
