Default Linking data that won't change when original formula changes

I have 2 worksheets.

On the first worksheet, there is 2 tabs. The first tab has data that changes
daily. The 2nd tab links to the daily data and has every day of the year.

So let say for today, on tab 2, July 30th will populate, which is great, my
problem is, on July 31, July 31 will populate and July 30th will go blank
again.

Is there a way I can format the linked cell on tab 2 to hold that data from
July 30th?

Thanks
