I have tried to delete a "Workbook" from the Excel open menu but am unable to
do so even after deleting it by going into Windows Explore. How can i delete/remove the Workbook name from the Excel open menu? |

Firstly, realize that this is only a link to teh last "X" number of workbooks
you have opened. Deleting the spreadsheet does not change teh fact that you had opened it at some point. If you still need to remove it from the list, you can accomplish that by changing the number of files listed in that open menu list. Any change to that setting, clears the history list and starts a new history record. Office buttonAdvanced Excel optionsAdvanced Display group Show this number of Recent documents. Of course that completely clears the history list, maybe NOT what you wanted-- It will however remove that, and all other, entries from your recentlu opened files list in Excel. Thanks for the help. Seems I will have a bit of a wait before it disappears.

An Addition to my earlier post. It may be necessary to set the number of
Recent documents to zero, save and exit to clear teh history file-- Found this to be the case with WORD just now. Tghen reopen and redefine to number of files to display at yoru preference.
