Default Excel 2007 file in use

Hello,

I am on Excel 2007 SP2 on Vista machine. I am getting a file in use message
when opening up my own excel docs that no one else has access to. I have
tried to install the hot fix which is article 942146. When I go to install
it I recieve the following message, The update does not apply to your system.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this issue?

Thanks!
D
