How to set default calculation method in pivot tables?
In Excel 2007, how do I set the calculation method in pivot tables so the
default is "count" (rather than "sum," "average,", etc)? |

How to set default calculation method in pivot tables?
You can't change the default.
You'll end up with Sum if all the cells in that field are numeric (no empty cells, too!). You'll end up with Count if at least one cell is not numeric (empty or text). You may want to take a look at Debra Dalgleish's PivotPower Add-in: http://contextures.com/xlPivotAddIn02.html#PivotItems Larryq22 wrote: In Excel 2007, how do I set the calculation method in pivot tables so the default is "count" (rather than "sum," "average,", etc)? -- Dave Peterson |
