Default Cell formatting when pasting from a non-Office application

Are you able to change a setting in Excel so that any copied text, numbers
maintain the formatting in the destination file (versus the originating -
copied from - file)?
I know you can do this in Word, but can't find it in Excel.
Thanks

Copy a range
Right clickPasteSpecialAll

OR

Right clickPasteSpecialFormatsOK followed by PasteSpecialValuesOK.

If this post helps click Yes

For ***Non-Office application ***

PasteSpecialText.. once copied try...DataText to Columns...

Most of the time what i do is copy this to a text editor such as NotePad and
then copy that to excel...so that excel assumes text and numbers..
