Default excel calculates prior to saving

Is it possible to have TO many formulas in a spreadsheet? Have a rather
large worksheet for an 18 month rolling forecast and the sheet shows
"calculate" in lower left corner on worksheet - setting set to automatic
(except tables).

The dependancy tree prior to 2007 was 65,536 dependancies. So long as you
stayed under that limit Excel did a smart calc only calculating cells
dependant on the ones that changed. If you go past the 65,536 limit XL can no
longer keep track of all of the dependancies and it just does a full calc
each time whether the cell needs it or not... Check out this link for a
better explanation.
