Default Book1.XLS replace by old file name

Whenever I open a new Excel Worksheet, it contains the name of an old file -
instead of Book1 -- How do I correct?

I'd look for that file in your xlstart folder and either delete it or move it to
where it belongs.

Find an empty cell in that workbook (any worksheet)
type this in that cell:
=cell("Filename",a1)

That should give you a hint where this file is located.
