borders blocked by text
Consider the following situation:
- I define the borders of a block of, say, 10x10 cells such that there are lines in the "outline" and the "inside" - in other words like a 10x10 grid - I then enter text in any of the inside cells such that the length of the text is longer than the wide of the cell I When I print this (even the screen shows this), the "inside" borders where the text overflows to the adjacent cells are not displayed or printed. My question: is there a way to force the borders to show up at all the borders where any overflow text exist? My alternate question: What I really want to do is to create some kind of dotted line (vertical) grid with text (which always overflow the cells) overlaid on top of it. If there is a way do accomplish this without having to use border formatting, I am all ears, too. Thanks a lot. |

borders blocked by text
Few thoughts....
1. The border is not displayed when you have a blank cell to the right. Enter a space (F2Spacebar) in the right cell to make the border visible. If you have more blank cells enter space in a unused cell out of your grid. Select the grid. G5GotoSpecialBlanksRight clickPasteSpecialValues... 2. Hope you already know about 'Wrap Text' option and 'Shrink to Fit' options available under Format CellsAlignment'Text Control'.. If this post helps click Yes --------------- Jacob Skaria "rockhammer" wrote: Consider the following situation: - I define the borders of a block of, say, 10x10 cells such that there are lines in the "outline" and the "inside" - in other words like a 10x10 grid - I then enter text in any of the inside cells such that the length of the text is longer than the wide of the cell I When I print this (even the screen shows this), the "inside" borders where the text overflows to the adjacent cells are not displayed or printed.
