A colleague of mine was sent a spreadsheet that had a number of dropdown
lists. One of the dropdowns had lost its data. My colleague asked me if I could fix it for him rather than sending it back to the person that created it because of the turn-around time. I ended up having to cheat and create a new data list because I couldnt find the original data source. I checked for hidden sheets, I checked for white text and I checked Visual Basic, but to no avail. Could someone tell me how I can find the data source. Thanks in advance Lynda |

Thank you Jacob, that worked. I was able to find the data area but i still
cannot see the actual data. Can you advise me as to what they may have done to hide the data. Cheers Lynda |

I thought you have removed the data and trying to find the range.. Does the
drop down still works??? or i mean still list the values....If not i dont think there is a way in getting the data back unless you have a backup file.. -- If this post helps click Yes --------------- Jacob Skaria "Lynda" wrote: Thank you Jacob, that worked. No I didn't remove the data. The dropdown still worked but the data wasn't
visible so I thought that perhaps somehow it had dropped off the dropdown and just needed to be reattached and that is when I had trouble finding the data source, hence my question to the forum. So there is a chance the data has been removed even though the dropdown is still there showing where the data source used to be. Lynda |
