Default Changing file Extension

This has got to be a neophytic question, but I remember when I
used to be able to right click and change the file extension. How do I
change the extension now once it is already saved with Excel WITHOUT opening
it?

Default Changing file Extension

Use this to view the extensions, but remember that if you change the extension in possible that you can't open the file anymore.

1: Open Windows Explorer
2: Win XP : Click on ToolsFolder Options
2: Vista : Click on OrganizeFolder and Search Options
3: On the View tab uncheck or check €œHide extensions for known file types"

Go to the Control Panel, Folder Options, 'View' tab and uncheck 'Hide
extentions for known file types'
