How to allow sorting in a protected worksheet?

I have several worksheets with lookup formulas in most of the cells. Is their
a way to allow the resulting row data to be sorted? I want to protect the
worksheet from changes/deletions to the original formulas, and only allow for
the sorting of the data that is generated. Thank You.
