Default Connecting from one Excel file to another, how do you display info

I want to make a single template type file in Excel and have information that
will go in it in another Excel file. I see where you make the connection to
the other file but I cant figure out how you have that information display
into the template file. How is this done?

Also im not sure where to start with it but I basically want it to create a
single page per record on the template. How would I do this?

The easiest way to link between workbook is to open both workbooks, start
type the equal sign into a cell, and while still editing cell contents,
switch to other workbook, and click on the cell you want to link to.

Wow, that IS a lot easier!! what Im wanting to have done in the end is print
1 record per sheet. Is there a way of doing that also using this method?
The number of records will be changing over time also
