Can I enter info in Excel and have it display as an '*'?
I've created a spreadsheet for employees to use to calculate their possible
bonus for the year. In doing this they must enter their salary in and apparently someone saw someone else's salary. Anyway, is there a way to have them enter their salary in a cell but have it show as '*****' (kinda like when you enter your pin at an ATM machine)? |

You can use custom format or "*******" but then you would have to hide the data
in the formula bar and password-protect the sheet so's no one could change formatting. Sheet protection passwords can easily be cracked. The rule is............if you don't want someone to see data, don't include that data on a sheet. Give them each a workbook with only their sheet included.
