I have an auto filter on and when I hit on the drop down it displays "All" -
"Top 10" - - and " custom". How do I get it to display items stored in that column. When I enter information in the custom auto filer nothing happens -- grizz |

Hi,
Show us a sample of your data. What version of Excel are you using. Make sure that the entire data range is selected before you turn on the AutoFilter. It sounds like you might have a blank row below the title row. Even if the blank row is hidden this would cause a problem if you just put your cursor in the title cell and choose Data, Filter, AutoFilter. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. I'm using office 2000
in each column I have data validation; in this case are employee names at the top of this column it has "NAMES" The "NAMES" has auto filter on. If for example "John" shows up in this column I want to be able to click on the name and it will show only "John" -- grizz "Shane Devenshire" wrote: Hi, Show us a sample of your data. I will try again
1 "NAME" ( Auto filter on ) 2 John ( data validation ) 3 Bob ( data validation ) 4 Jane ( data validation ) 5 John ( data validation ) now "NAME" has a drop down that displays " All" - Top 10 " - and Custom" when a name is entered in the column it should display in the "NAME" drop down window. Therfore if I click on that persons name it will only display that persons name each time it is entered in that column. The custom auto filter does not give me the option of entering a column -- grizz "Shane Devenshire" wrote: Hi, If you tested my previous suggestions and they failed then show us a sample of your data: A 1 Name 2 3 John 4 Bob ... or whatever.
