Hello all;

I am trying to autocomplete a cell based on the value of a checkbox/other
and the contents of an alternate cell.

Example

John Smith purchases 3 apples, a Gala - Washington Red and Granny Smith. I
would like to place a checkbox/other on an order form that automatically
complete the word "Apple" in cell a2 to be automatically completed if the
checkbox in b2 is true. Likewise a3 and a4 if the checkbox in cell b3 and b4
respectively are checked.

Problem is that I am using Data Validation in cells a1 through a4 to start a
selection limitation in alternate cells. Apple in a1 allows only apple
varieties in c1, Pears would allow only Pear varities. The "Fruit" list is
created using data validation List. The formula is a named range reference
- (=fruitcatagory). The data validation is preventing me from entering a
formula to access the checkbox value with an if statement.

Further, there is a blank cell in all of the lists as John Smith should be
allowed to order Meat or some other alternate item if he should choose to.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Unfortunately RR decided that Usenet
communities will no longer be supported and I need to use the MS Office site.
They do not yet allow file uploads so I can't send a sample. Please forgive
me.

I am desperatly hoping to avoid a macro or any other VBA with this. I
sincerely appreciate your help. I have always gotten great results here.
