I am collecting data on school children competing in competitions in my area.
I have their names, their ages and their year group. Is it possible for excel to create unique ID numbers for each child and to count how many children have competed, how new children (first timers) have competed, and how many have competed from each school. Any help on this matter, or any different ways of completing the outcome will be greatfully recieved. Thank you -- Thanks.... Dan |

Dan,
This application sounds better suited for Microsoft Access. Access will generate the unique ID's you are looking for. To do the same in Excel, VBA code may have to be written. Don't know for sure. As for your other requirements Excel or Access should be a ble to fulfill them. John "danjordan2000" wrote: I am collecting data on school children competing in competitions in my area.
