Default Problems sorting spreadsheet - Please Help

Hello,

I was sent a spreadsheet that when I try to sort and expand selection it
gives me a message:

This operation requires the merged cells to be identically sized.

When I click on show help it says to unmerge all cells or make cells the
same size as merge cells.

I looked in the help and could not find anything on unmerging cells. So how
do I get this report to sort?? I need to sort it by the Loam Amount Column.

Any help would be most appreciated!!!

Click in the top left hand corner (above row 1, and to the left of column A)
to select the whole sheet. Then Format/ Cells/ Alignment, and unselect
"Merge cells", (and swear a solemn vow never to merge cells again).

Hi David,

Thank you for replying. That worked great, thanks!

One more thing, on the left side of the spreadsheet next to A are 2 little
buttons that say 1 and 2. Below those are little boxess with + signs. How can
I get rid of those?

Thanks!

Hi FSt1,

Thank you for your reply. I tried what you said and when I clicked remove
all, the box closed but nothing happened to the spreadsheet. The little boxes
with the 1 and 2 and all the little boxes underneath with the plus signs are
still there.

However, you are correct about the subtotals because it did show up on the
menu when I click on subtotals.
