Default Customizing Toolbar Buttons

I am trying to assign a macro that I created in 'Personal Excel Workbook' to
a button that I have customized on a toolbar. When I complete the
assignment I get an error from Excel and the "Personal Excel Workbook
disappears. This only happens on Excel 2000, not on Excel 2003, on multiple
Computers.

Operating system = XP Pro
Application = Excel 2000

Reference Manual = Excel 2000 Expert Course, Hands-On Exercise 14.6.
