Default Need to use numbers to right of decimal only

I need to create a formula that will allow me to use the numbers to
the right of the decimal place of a number only. I need to determine
how much material the decimal number represents. For example. I have a
formula that returns a result of 7.234 the .234 needs to be multiplied
against another number to determine the amount of waste material this
represents. Can someone help me with this?
thank you in advance,
Rudy
