Default Edit a read only?

What do I need to do if I have a spreadsheet that is read only? I need to
autosum and run a macro... Oh yeh it says it is password protected... any
takers on this??

This came in from an outside source. I do not have any way to obtain this
password.

Why do you suppose the "outside source" protected it with a password?

Probably thought that protected the workbook/data ... which we know is not
the case. :)
