Default Excel is now printing all the entire workbook.

I have Windows Vista and Office 2003. (Some background info I recently
installed a program called Desk PDF to convert a large Word doc to PDF).
When I went to print a worksheet on a workbook containing 22 sheets it
printed all sheets on my HP Laser printer. It never did this in the past. I
opened the print dialog box and reset the button to active sheet. While this
works for each sheet the default setting for all my worksheets is now 'Entire
Workbook' and I am unable to save the change. How can I permanently reset it
back to 'Active Sheet'?

I have two solutions if these are of any help to you.

You can define a print area that will print only the print area unless a
specific selection is made. If you select a range of cells to print and then
click Selection, Excel prints the selection and ignores any print area
defined for the worksheet.

However, it sounds like you are asking to have your print options under
'Print What' reset to 'active sheet(s)'.

In Windows Explorer, remove any template files from the XLStart folder. The
XLStart folder is usually located at: C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office11\XLStart

If the files aren't in the XLStart folder, look in the folder specified in
the At startup, open all files in box on the General tab in the Options
dialog box (Tools menu).
To restore original settings for workbooks, remove Book.xlt

I hope this helps you out.

Thanks Sara. All my worksheets have defined Print Areas. While I found
within XLStart an icon for Desk PDF which I deleted it did not solve my
problem. I had looked in 'Options Dialog box- At Start Up' but there are no
items listed in it.
I have now found that when I click on the 'Print Preview' icon it is the
'Print' Dialog box that opens. Under 'Print what' I have also noted that the
Collate option is also checked. Further help will be appereciated.

Default Excel is now printing all the entire workbook.

With Excel closed out.

StartSearchFiles and Folders.

Look for Excelxx.xlb where xx is your version of Excel.

Usually found at

C:\Documents and Settings\usename\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel

Rename to excelxx.old

Re-start Excel and see what print settings are.

If back to normal, close excel which will save the re-built Excelxx.xlb

If not, post back with results.

Thank you all for your help. I contacted Docudesk (www.docudesk.com) and
they have advised me that they are at fault. They gave me a fresh download
with their fix. All is now back to normal.
Once again I would like to thank MS Communities. I would be lost without you.
