I am trying to copy a sheet from excel into powerpoint. I want to protect
certain fields and leave other open. I know I need to lock and protect them before I copy/paste, but I can't select the protected locked cells. Any ideas. Thanks, -- Jenee Lynn |

Sounds like you've got worksheet protection set up to not allow selecting
'locked' cells. What you'll have to do is First, unprotect the worksheet Second, start the Protect Worksheet operation again but check the box next to the "Select Locked Cells" option (top of the list). Then do your copying over into PowerPoint. After you've completed that work, again unprotect the sheet, and then go back and protect it and clear that checkbox so that people using the Excel sheet cannot select those locked cells once again. OR POSSIBLY MUCH SIMPLER: Unprotect the sheet, do the copying and put it back into the same protected state that it was in before you unprotected it. No having to check/uncheck the option in the Protect setup window. This method relies on the fact that when a sheet is unprotected, the "Locked" status of cells on it is not a player in what's copied/selected/changed.
