Default Opening excel 2007

I have a saved document in Excel 2007. when i click on it to open, it gives
me a blank screen with the toolbar. i click to open the folder in the top
left corner, it gives me a list of documents to open in My Documents. since
this is the wrong place, i click cancel and my document appears. how can i
get the document that i want to work on to open when i double click it?
