One way:
(I use WinXP Home, it may be different for you) Open Windows Explorer View|Folder Options File Types Tab Scroll down to .xls (and .xlt and .xla and .doc and .dot and whatever you want) Select that item Click the Advanced button Check the Confirm after download option and ok/close your way out.
