Excel - Want to sort by formula value without losing formula
Hi. I have a range of cells containing a formula. I want to sort that
column by the values of the formula without losing the formula (therefore, can't copy / paste special just the value because that deletes the formula). Is there any way I can sort that range of cells according to the value of the formula in the cell and keep the formula? |

Excel - Want to sort by formula value without losing formula
Say the formula is in C1 thru C10:
=A1 + B1 =A2 + B2 .. .. .. just sort columns A thru C by column C either ascending or descending. -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200767 "HappyPill" wrote: Hi. I have a range of cells containing a formula. I don't quite know what you mean. I can sort a column by the values the
formulas display and I don't lose the formulas. I'm using Excel 2007. Tyro "HappyPill" wrote in message ... Hi. I have a range of cells containing a formula. Tyro,
Are you saying that if the column of formulas is on in the same rows as the original data you can still sort the column of formulas? -- Regards, Sandy In Perth, the ancient capital of Scotland and the crowning place of kings Replace @mailinator.com with @tiscali.co.uk "Tyro" wrote in message ...
