Excel will generally default to Sum for a numerical field. *What is in the field you want to sum? This seems to have answered the question. The data are financial numbers downloaded from Essbase. For some reason the 0 (zero) values are formatted as text, while the numbers greater than or less than zero are formatted as numbers. Multiplying everything by 1 formats them as numbers, and then the pivot table behaves as you indicate. Thanks. Dave |
