Workbooks Close, but window stays open
One of my colleagues is having a problem with Excel 2003 - When he has
multiple workbooks open and he uses the internal X to close a single workbook, the workbook closes, but the window stays open. So if he has 4 workbooks open and he closes each one individually using the internal X, he now has 4 empty Excel windows open on his toolbar. If he uses File -- Close it closes the workbook and window. If he right-clicks on the toolbar tab and selects close, it closes the workbook and window -- It's only when he uses the internal X that the wmpty windows stay open. Any ideas why or any ideas of what he can do to fix this? Thanks! Mari |

Workbooks Close, but window stays open
From the menu select TOOLS and then click OPTIONS. If necessary, click the
VIEW tab. In the first row there are a series of check boxes under the SHOW pane name, remove the check from WINDOWS IN TASKBAR. This should solve your problem... -- Kevin Backmann "Mari" wrote: One of my colleagues is having a problem with Excel 2003 - When he has multiple workbooks open and he uses the internal X to close a single workbook, the workbook closes, but the window stays open.
