If you mean merged cells, the general view of the experts on this group is

No joy. When I select D1 (or column D for that matter) the ViewFreeze
Pane
options are only Freeze Panes (both row and colum), Freeze Row and
Freeze
First Column.

Maybe there's an add-in new to 2007.........
