Default Help with using Auto-filter in a protected Worksheet.

I am try to figure out a way to use Auto-filter when some of the cells in a
worksheets are protected. I don't want users to be able to change the data in
the sheet but they need to be able to use Auto-filter in order to do some of
their work. The problem is, anytime we protect the sheet, they can't use
Auto-filter.
Is there a work around for this?

Thank you.

Hi,

You could try checking the 'Use Autofilter' option when you protect the sheet.

Hey Mike,
I just tried it with another file and it isn't working on that file. What
could be the problem?

Ayo

Data Filter must be enabled on a range before you protect the sheet with the
"Use Autofilter" checked.

i.e. select a range and DataFilterAutofilter to get the arrows.

Now protect the sheet.
