Default Column Headings

I have received a workbook from someone where the column headings (the actual
A.B.C...) is all numbers. Just like the rows. How was that done and how can
I undo it?

Thanks!

Tools/Options from Excel's menu bar, click the General tab on the dialog box
that appears, uncheck the "R1C1 reference style" check box under the
Settings area.
