Default all of a sudden - something's different

Help!
In the past - I have been able to drag formulas of one cell down to be
matched in others. For example - if I want C1 to be the sum of A1 & B1, I
type "=A1+B1" hit ENTER and it adds the two - then, to replicate the same
formula in rows 2 - 30 and so on, I just move my mouse to the bottom right of
the cell until I get the solid black cross, drag it down and the formula
repeats for each respective row. For some reason today - it won't do that
anymore.
Has a setting changed that I'm not aware of?

Try holding Ctrl while you drag from the bottom right corner.

Do you mean that you don't have the option of copying down a cell by
grabbing it? If so do toolsoptionsedit and make sure "allow cell drag and
drop" is checked. If you mean that you can copy the cell but the formula
won't change then do toolsoptionscalculation and select automatic

Didn't work - all it did was copy to result of cell C1.
