Using zero's for the first number in excell collumns
I want to create a column for the zipcodes in a mailing list and some of them
have zero's as the first number. the formatting won't let me use zeros as the first number in a collumn. how do i fix this? |

Using zero's for the first number in excell collumns
Since the column is dedicated to zip codes, XL has a built in format you can
use: <Format <Cells <Number tab, and click on "Special". Gives you 2 choices: Zip Code & Zip Code+4 -- HTH, RD ================================================== === Please keep all correspondence within the Group, so all may benefit! ================================================== === "djc256" wrote in message ... Using zero's for the first number in excell collumns
Pre-format the column as Text or preface your zipcodes with an apostrophe which
will be visible only in the formula bar. Using zero's for the first number in excell collumns
You can try either
Format|Cells|Number tab|Special which allow sfor zip codes or zip codes + 4. OR (this is my preference as it does both) Format|Cells|Number tab|Custom category [99999]00000-0000;00000 -- HTH...
