Default Task Pain

Hi. Whenever Excel 2003 is opened, it shows a task pane on the right
hand of the screen. Is there any method to disable it so that it does
not open each time Excel is opened?

At the very bottom of the task pane is a check box "Show at Startup". Just
uncheck the box...

Click Tools/Options on Excel's menu bar, select View tab from dialog box
that appears and uncheck the "Startup Task Pane" check box in the Show
section.

From the menu click TOOLS/OPTIONS. Click the VIEW tab and remove the check
from the very first check box labeled START UP PANE.
