Default Lock worksheet, but leave one column open

I would like to lock a worksheet down but allow only one column to be
populated.

Default Lock worksheet, but leave one column open

Select that column an then:-

Format|cells|protection and remove the locked checkmark click OK

Then

Tools protection|Protect sheet.
