Default Excel Text Import creates garbage text

When importing a .txt file to Excel, most users have no problem. Another
user importing the same .txt file sees the text in the Wizard as jumbled
garbage text, resembling most of the original text, but random odd characters
in place of original. Any thoughts on cause and resolution?

Thanks

Hi,

I verifyed the text file created in Note Pad in to Microsoft Excel 2003, and
it worked fine. Please check the delimter. In your case, check wheteher the
sentence has spacing between each word.

Thank you for your response. The text for this user comes into the Import
Wizard as garbage in step 1, before any settings are configured. Changing
the delimiter doesn't seem to change the miscellaneous characters displayed.
This user is on a thin client also, if that matters, using a Wyse Winterm.
