Default Keyboard shortcut to 'Formula Bar' ?

I have an Excel sheet where I need to do lots of updates -
entering/updating data mostly. If I navigate to a cell, the easiest way
to update is from the 'Formula Bar' near the top of Excel. In order to
go there I have to click the mouse in the Formula Bar. After several
hundred clicks my wrist usually gets very tired.

The question: is there a keyboard shortcut that moves the cursor into
the Formula Bar, rather than removing my hand from the keyboard, seeking
the mouse, moving to the Formula Bar, and clicking in it?

P.S. Excel 2003, b.t.w.

F2 will put you into the formula bar in edit mode.

Thanks; F2 is exactly what I was looking for. Funny that I was unable to
find that information in Excel Help. I guess if I had typed "F2" I would
have found it...

Did you try looking up "Shortcut Keys", It's listed under Edit Data.
