Default Number is not entered twice in a column or row

Hi

Does anybody out there know if there's a way I can stop someone entering a
value in a row/column that is a duplicate of another value already there?

Thanks

Try Data=Validation

Allow: Custom

Formula is: =COUNTIF(A:A,A1)=1
