I need the total for highlighted cells in lower tray.
Somehow this feature has dissappeared.

I need the total for highlighted cells in lower tray.
If the Status Bar has disappeared.....Try this
From the Excel main menu: <tools<options<view.....Check: Status Bar However, if the Status Bar is visible, but no value appears for selected cells...try this: Right-Click on the Status Bar where you expect to values to show and select SUM.
