Default Conditional merge

Dear all,

I would like to know if it is possible to merge some cells using the
conditional formatting, if 2 cells do not meet a certain condition, like: IF
(this) THEN merge cells (Cell1, cell 2)

Also, I wonder if this merge can only happen on printing only, as I guess
merging cells in not ideal.

Thanx
