Default date formating problems

This problem has started.

When I key in a number into cell and format as date, it now treats the
number like it were a Julian date. I have opened old spreadsheet that are
formatted as dates, then have keyed into an open cell, a number and format as
a date, and it displays it as a Julian date.

Default date formating problems

If you put 3/24/2007 ( or 24/3/2007 ) into a cell and it displays:

39165

then the problem is probably just a display option. For example CNTRL-~
will do this. There might be others.
