Default multiple columns with like data

My spreadsheet contains info about behaviors in our school. One field is
location of behavior with 7 choices. The problem is some behaviors occur in
more than one location. So I have 4 columns named Loc 1, Loc 2, Loc 3, Loc 4
containing several different areas such as recess, classroom, etc. The
problem is when i go todo a chart or table loc 1,2,3,4 come up and are
duplicated with the actual location recess, classroom. I need for example a
sum of all behaviors occuring in classroom combined for all 4 columns and
only one title in the chart or worksheet named classroom, now I am getting 4
titles for classroom, recess etc one for each column. So how do I combine
them or do I make one column with multiple entries, will that work and how do
i do it . Please Help me
