Default changing color of font to words in a list

Can some one please assist.

How do I change the color of every word on a list?

ie.;

List contain words:
On
Off
Repaired

When Selected, I want each word to have a different color when selected;

On - Blue
Off - Red
Repair - Yellow

Thank You.
