You don't give enough information for someone to reliably respond. What kind
of analysis are you doing? How much RAM does your computer have? Dave -- A hint to posters: Specific, detailed questions are more likely to be answered than questions that provide no detail about your problem. The answer depends alot on what your data looks like... But normally with
that many rows of data a pivot table is your best solution. Pivot tables can be used up to a few million rows (when hooked directly to databases) with remarkably good performance. -- HTH... FYI Ram is not necessarily that import. XL can only address a fixed amount of
memory based on the version. Check out this link... http://www.decisionmodels.com/memlimits.htm -- HTH... Not necessarily but can be. 30,000 rows on 128 mb of RAM wouldn't work too

Bigger issue will be that if there are calcs on the sheet then there is a
good chance that the dependancy tree will exceed 65,536 dependancies. At that point XL looses its ability to smart calc and all formulas will become volatile and be calculated with each calc. Pivot tables get around that as they pre-aggregate the data... -- HTH... Jim Thomlinson "Dave F" wrote: Not necessarily but can be. 30,000 rows on 128 mb of RAM wouldn't work too well.
