Default Import Negative #'s

When I import a text file into Excel, the negative numbers do not import as a
number (they are left aligned and cannot be summed). Is there a way to
convert these to number format? I have tried format/cell with no success.
If I retype the number, it it works but is too time consuming.

Thank you!

Try selecting the column, and DataText To Columns, fixed width with no
breaks.
